Few music industry veterans boast a more diverse or accomplished resume than Gary Chapman. The Texas native has spent time as a singer, songwriter, musician, producer, director, television host, record company chief and entrepreneur. He’s won seven Dove Awards including male vocalist of the year; had songs recorded by Kenny Rogers, Alabama and Wynonna; spent more than four years hosting the cable TV show “Prime Time Country” and started the record label that launched Everlife, now a successful act in the Disney stable.
Chapman’s latest endeavor is taking him back to his true roots—the church. A Hymn a Week (now available on Facebook) is a natural extension of Gary’s creative life. Throughout it all, these wonderful songs have always been there. From the piano-bench at the age of three… through the countless church services required of all “preacher’s kids”… to the stage of the Ryman Auditorium where, for six years he started every single “Sam’s Place” with a hymn.
